All too often, companies of all sizes fall prey to the insidious paradox known as, “The Tyranny of the Urgent.” Even worse, when an organization hasn’t taken the time to prioritize what it WILL do in a given fiscal period, then it almost certainly hasn’t taken the time to prioritize what it WON’T do, either.  In times of uncertainty, it is critical that an organization has the ability to focus; Focus on the plan that achieves the strategic goals that move the business forward, BUT just as important, ignore the “noise” that sometimes sounds so deafeningly urgent, when in fact, it’s just a dubious distraction.  Learn how to plan the right big-bets in a way that keeps the team focused, while it maintains high-performance in the areas of trust, accountability and results.
